Fabricom Suez named as the winner of “Excellence in Community Relations Award”
We are delighted to announce that Fabricom Suez have been awarded with the ConocoPhillps Excellence in Community Relations Award. We were presented with the award at the Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce annual awards ceremony on 20th June at Grimsby Auditorium.
This award recognises us as a company whose approach to corporate and social responsibilities demonstrate a positive impact on the community. We had plenty of examples to demonstrate this to the judges of the award; including our charitable fundraising events for St Andrew’s Hospice, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance and FLAG (Family links around Grimsby) and our sponsorship and involvement with community projects such as the Willow’s housing estate 40th birthday celebrations to name a few.
Nigel Carlton, Managing Director said “I am delighted that we have won this award, it recognises the hard work and generous spirit of our staff. Without their enthusiasm and dedication, it would not be possible for us continually raise funds for local charities and work with local community projects. Thank you to everyone involved.”
Fabricom are proud to support the Two Towers Challenge 2008
We are one of the main sponsors of the bike ride that starts at the Eiffel Tower and finishes at Grimsby in July and we will be providing the team with a support vehicle for their challenge.
Fabricom became involved in this challenge through one of our members of staff; Steve Partland who works at our Immingham facility. Tragically, Steve lost his young daughter, Eleanor Jobling to cancer in October last year. Following Eleanor’s death, her husband Gavin, along with three friends decided to raise money for St Andrew’s Hospice and The Macmillan Suite in memory of Eleanor.
The Macmillan Suite and Ward 1A is the designated Oncology and Haematology Department within the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospital Trust. St Andrews Hospice is a community facility, registered charity, funded primarily by private donations. It costs over £2m every year to continue this service.
The challenge team is made up of: Gavin Jobling, Simon Maddison, Mark Jennings and Gaz Bickerdike. What all four men have in common is the motivation to raise as much money as possible for these two charities that help so many people.

MAJOR ENGINEERING JOBS BOOST FOR THE NORTH EAST
A NEW ENGINEERING COMPANY
As a result of close co-operation with the regional development agency, One NorthEast, one of Europe’s leading oil and gas engineering and services organisations, Fabricom Oil & Gas, is to establish a base in the North East of England bringing with it highly skilled engineering jobs.
Fabricom Offshore Services Ltd, a subsidiary of Fabricom Contracting Ltd, is creating a base for its offshore oil and gas engineering business in Newcastle. “This is part of ongoing efforts by the Fabricom Oil & Gas operational unit to enhance our service offering to oil and gas companies around the North Sea region and strengthen our position as a provider of both innovative and complete solutions across the oil and gas value chain”, said Michel Hanson, President of Fabricom Oil & Gas.
Fabricom Offshore Services’ North Sea activity will include design and detailed engineering, maintenance and modification work to terminals and platforms, field decommissioning work in the North Sea, and providing on and offshore services for international companies such as BP, Shell, BG, Total and ConocoPhillips and new entrants into the industry such as Talisman, Apache, Valiant and Nexen.
Fabricom’s decision to locate the business in Newcastle was secured thanks to a £1.6m Selective Finance for Investment (SFI) grant from regional development agency, One NorthEast. The agency’s Sector team has been working with Fabricom over a period of several months, looking at the regions supply chain to link Fabricom into the relevant regional partners to help find the right location for Fabricom Offshore Services.
