Fabricom Contracting Limited carried out the construction of 4 no. pre-assembled pipe racks to 100t each for delivery to BP’s refinery at Kinneil in Scotland.  These formed part of “Project Resolution” to remove mercaptans from the oil received from the new Buzzard Oilfield. Also included within the scope were 4 no. support trestles to elevate the racks on site.O.

The scope of work included:

Steelwork design, fabrication and erection, fireproofing of steelwork, pipework fabrication, erection and testing;
Electrical lighting, electrical trace heating, pipe work insulation;
Transportation by road and ship to BP Kinneil site, Scotland.
In order to recover delays with the design program, Fabricom executed and achieved a tight recovery program working 7 days, including night-shifting, to bring the project in on time.  During this project, Fabricom were able to instigate a number of Value Engineering initiatives for the client.
